Polylang Automatic Translation: 4 Ways Compared
Copy-paste, Polylang Pro's DeepL integration, AutoPoly or AutoLingo: what each one translates, what it costs, and which fits your site.
Polylang manages languages, URLs and the links between translations, but it does not translate anything by itself. There are four common ways to fill it with translations automatically. Prices below were checked on each vendor's website on 27 October 2026.
1. Copy and paste through a translator
Create the translation in Polylang, paste each field into DeepL or Google Translate, paste the result back. It costs nothing and works for a handful of pages. It does not scale: every update means doing it again, and pasting into blocks or builders easily breaks the layout.
2. Polylang Pro's DeepL integration
Polylang Pro (from €99 a year for one site, with 50% off renewals) includes DeepL machine translation, with your own DeepL API key. You translate from the post editing screen. Polylang states that there is no one-click "translate everything" and that it is currently not compatible with Elementor and some builders.
A good fit if you already pay for Polylang Pro and translate a few posts at a time.
3. AutoPoly
AutoPoly, by Cool Plugins, is free on WordPress.org; the paid version is $79 a year for one site. The free version translates Gutenberg and Elementor content in the editor with the browser's built-in AI (Chrome or Edge) or the Yandex widget, without an API key. DeepL, OpenAI and Google Translate support, category translation and bulk translation are in the paid version.
A good fit for an Elementor site with no budget, if browser-based machine translation is good enough.
4. AutoLingo
AutoLingo is free on WordPress.org and works with Polylang or WPML. It translates on publish, from the editor or in bulk with WP-CLI, with DeepL, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI or DeepSeek on your own keys, switching to the next provider when a quota runs out. The free version covers Gutenberg, the Classic Editor, shortcode builders, categories, tags and menus. Premium ($39.99 a year, one site) adds Elementor, Bricks and Beaver Builder, SEO meta, ACF and WooCommerce, plus AutoLingo AI with no API key.
Which one to pick
- A few pages, rarely updated: copy and paste.
- Already on Polylang Pro, translating post by post: its DeepL integration.
- Elementor site, no budget, browser AI is enough: AutoPoly free.
- A whole site plus every new post, translated automatically with DeepL or another provider: AutoLingo free.
- The same with Elementor, SEO meta or WooCommerce: AutoLingo Premium.
